Description
A quick and easy air fryer dessert that creates crunchy, cinnamon-sugar coated churro bites using canned biscuit dough, served with a rich dark chocolate dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8-10 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (original or buttermilk)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (semi-sweet or bittersweet)
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut biscuit dough into 1-inch cubes.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the microwave.
- Mix granulated sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Dip each biscuit cube into the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray.
- Place churro bites in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While churros cook, warm heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat (do not boil).
- Remove cream from heat, add chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon butter, and let sit for 2 minutes.
- Whisk until smooth and glossy, then stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.
- Serve churro bites immediately with the warm chocolate dipping sauce.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Flip bites halfway through cooking. Use fresh cinnamon for best flavor. If the chocolate sauce is too thick, add a teaspoon of warm cream. Churros are best served immediately but can be reheated in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to restore crunch.
