Autumn Cranberry Orange Baked Brie with Hot Honey Drizzle

  • Author: Eden
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings 1x

Description

A budget-friendly, lightning-fast appetizer featuring a wheel of baked brie topped with cranberry sauce, orange marmalade, and spicy honey. It’s sweet, salty, creamy, and ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel Brie cheese (812 oz / 250-350g)
  • 1 can (14-16 oz / 400-450g) canned cranberry sauce (jellied style preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons orange marmalade (or zest of 1 orange mixed with 1 tsp honey)
  • 34 tablespoons honey (spicy honey or regular honey with red pepper flakes)
  • 1 package (200g) crackers or bread (water crackers, wheat thins, or baguette slices)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, toasted)
  • 23 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary (for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Remove Brie from plastic wrap. Keep in cardboard box or transfer to an oven-safe dish. Optionally score the top in a crosshatch pattern.
  3. If the cranberry sauce is stiff, microwave for 15-20 seconds to soften. Spread evenly over the top of the Brie, leaving a small border around the edge.
  4. Drizzle orange marmalade over the cranberry layer in a zigzag pattern.
  5. Drizzle honey generously over the top. If using regular honey, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top now.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is soft to the touch and toppings are bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly.
  8. Sprinkle with toasted nuts and fresh thyme leaves. Serve immediately with crackers or bread.

Notes

Take the brie out of the fridge 30 minutes before baking for even melting. Do not skip the resting time after baking, or the cheese will be too runny. If toppings start to burn, cover loosely with foil. For a gluten-free option, serve with gluten-free crackers or vegetable sticks.
