Description
A quick, creamy, and dairy-free smoothie made with frozen strawberries, bananas, oat milk, and nut butter. It provides a thick, milkshake-like texture and sustained energy without the mid-morning crash.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 cups frozen strawberries (200g)
- 1 medium ripe banana, frozen
- 1 cup oat milk
- 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter or almond butter
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup ice (only if fruit is not frozen)
Instructions
- Prep the fruit: If not pre-frozen, peel and chunk the banana, then freeze for at least 15 minutes. Measure out frozen strawberries.
- Add ingredients to the blender: Pour oat milk in first to protect blades, then add frozen strawberries, banana chunks, nut butter, seeds, vanilla, and sweetener.
- Blend until smooth: Start on low speed for 10 seconds, then increase to high. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth with no chunks.
- Taste and adjust: Check consistency and sweetness. Add more milk if too thick or sweetener if not sweet enough. Blend for 10 more seconds if adjusted.
- Serve immediately: Pour into a glass or travel mug and drink while cold and thick.
Notes
For best texture, use frozen fruit rather than fresh. If using fresh fruit, add ice cubes. Always add liquid to the blender first to prevent jamming. The smoothie is best consumed immediately; if stored, it may separate and turn brownish.
