Football Party Buffalo Chicken Pretzel Sliders

  • Author: Eden
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12-16 servings 1x

Description

Warm, gooey, and messy sliders featuring tangy buffalo chicken and Monterey Jack cheese sandwiched between soft pretzel dough, finished with a cool ranch drizzle. The perfect easy-to-eat appetizer for game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds (900g) pretzel dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 cups (450g) cooked and shredded chicken (rotisserie recommended)
  • ½ cup (120ml) buffalo sauce (Frank’s RedHot)
  • ¼ cup (55g) butter, melted
  • 2 cups (200g) Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • ½ cup (120g) sour cream (full fat)
  • ¼ cup (60g) mayonnaise
  • 1 packet (0.7 oz) ranch seasoning
  • 34 stalks green onions, chopped
  • Optional: 1 cup finely diced celery
  • Optional: ½ cup blue cheese crumbles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet (18×13 inch) with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, and melted butter. Toss to coat evenly. Add diced celery if using.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Roll out pretzel dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle that fits the baking sheet.
  5. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the chicken.
  7. Top with a second layer of dough (or more dough if needed). Press edges to seal.
  8. Brush the top generously with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until deep golden brown and puffy.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes to allow cheese to set.
  11. Cut into individual sliders using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  12. Drizzle with cool ranch sauce and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best melting results, shred your own cheese from a block rather than using pre-shredded cheese. If making ahead, keep assembled sliders in a low oven (200°F) to stay warm without drying out. Use a pizza cutter for clean slices to avoid squishing the dough.
